THE PCN PAYS TRIBUTE TO PRESIDENT ARAFAT’S MEMORY,
SYMBOL OF THE NATIONAL RESISTANCE OF THE PALESTINIAN PEOPLE

The support for the national Resistance of the Palestinian People against Zionist colonialism and imperialism is a tradition of our transnational Organization, which was one of very first in Europe, as from the middle of the Sixties, to affirm its concrete solidarity with the burgeoning PLO.

Roger Coudroy, the first European who died fighting in occupied Palestine in 1968, in the ranks of Fatah, was a member of our Organization, which then bore the name of “Parti Communautaire Européen”.

If we never dissimulated our ideological preference for the radical revolutionary Palestinian organizations like the PFLP or the Ba' athist “Arab Liberation Front” and “SAIKA”,  that does not mean we don’t pay tribute to Yasser Arafat’s memory, who will remain in the History as the incarnation of the Resistance of his martyred people.

Arafat made certainly many errors, but he also could show a courage and a resolution as constant as admirable.

We do not forget either the support brought by Arafat and the PLO to Ba' athist Iraq at the time of the first Gulf war in 1991, at the moment even when so many Arab leaders supported the camp of imperialism, Zionism and Reaction.
